TWO men have been arrested in the Czech Republic by detectives investigating the murder of Pavaiz Iqbal.

The pair were arrested at their homes in Prague this morning after officers jetted to eastern Europe on Tuesday.

Both men, who are aged 29 and 32, will appear in a Czech court tomorrow morning where a judge will decide if they will be remanded in a Czech jail while the process of extraditing the men takes place.

Mr Iqbal, a 45-year-old builder, was repeatedly hit over the head with a blunt object at his home in Birkdale Gardens, Deane, on December 18 last year.

The investigation has since focused on two Czech nationals who are believed to have fled from their bedsit in Derby Street back to their native country.
