A DJ from Leigh is taking over from comedian Phill Jupitus on BBC6 Music's breakfast show - just three months after he joined the station.
Shaun Keaveny, pictured, who currently hosts an evening show, will take over from April 2 as part of a shake-up after Jupitius decided to return to stand-up comedy.
Keaveny, a former pupil at St Mary RC High School, joined the digital station in January from the Greater London indie station, Xfm.
BBC6 music controller Lesley Douglas said: "Shaun's irreverence, humour and love of music will make him the perfect new breakfast show presenter."
Keaveny, aged 34, who presents The Dream Ticket, Monday to Thursday, said: "6 Music has long been a bastion of the best new music and curator of the spirit of John Peel.
"I can't wait to get started. It's going to be tough taking over from Phill but I'm looking forward to the challenge."
