FLY-TIPPERS have left a footpath virtually unpassable, say residents.
One man said the remains of a demolished garage also appear to have been dumped at the top of Slack Lane, Westhoughton.
The waste has been there for around a month, according to pensioner Terry Riley, who lives in nearby Dixon Street.
"There are double garage doors, framework and asbestos sheeting," he said.
"It looks as though it's just been dumped there and it is obstructing the footpath."
A Bolton Council spokesman said officers were looking into tidying up the site in Westhoughton.
"We are investigating the reports of fly-tipping to assess any evidence that would lead to identifying the offenders.
"Subsequently, we will make sure that the public footpath is passable," she said.
