Manchester United's selection problems for Wanderers visit on Saturday lunchtime, already hampered by the absence of the suspended Paul Scholes and injuries that have ruled out Louis Saha, Darren Fletcher, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Mikael Silvestre worsened when number one keeper, Edwin van der Sar, injured a calf in the warm-up before Saturday's FA Cup quarter-final at Middlesbrough.
The injury is not thought to be serious but Van der Sar says he will take no risks with his fitness, leaving understudy, Tomasz Kuszczak, to continue in goal against Wanderers.
"I don't think I will be back in time to face Bolton on Saturday - that would be pushing it," he said. "We will see, but it certainly doesn't look that way."
Allardyce, meanwhile, is hoping for good news on the injury front with Kevin Davies, who has missed six games with a foot injury he suffered in the FA Cup tie at Arsenal in January, pushing to return.
