Westhoughton Lions U-10 Ince Rose Bridge 34 THE Lions will play not as well as this and win.
For 80 per cent of the game they competed on equal terms with a very strong side from the hotbed of Rugby League.
It is no exaggeration to say that several of the Lions' players would have looked at home in the Ince team, with Chris Brownlow and Kieran Atherton particularly eye-catching.
The score does not reflect the closeness of a fierce but fair contest that Ince won by being marginally better in attack and a bit stronger in defence.
The Lions' efforts were rewarded with a fine try from George Smith after excellent build-up play from Aidan Mann and the fleet-footed Joe Gornall.
The Lions club are looking for new players at all age levels (under 8s-17s) for the 2006/2007 season.
