Oldham Hulmeians 5 Tonge United 2 TONGE suffered another defeat this time to the bottom of the league.
Things started brightly for Tonge with chances for Metcalfe and Roberts to score, however it was Oldham who grabbed the opener when a left wing cross floated in.
The lead was soon doubled when the home striker was allowed too much time and space to pick his spot.
The second half saw Tonge come back into the game, when on 55minutes Roberts scored his 19th goal of the season, and 10 minutes later a Bonner 30-yard free-kick made it 2-2.
But within 60 seconds the home side retook the lead and two further goals late on saw them run out deserved winners.
Tonge United Reserves went five points clear with a 5-1 win over Thornleigh Reserves, with goals from Sloan, Murgatroyd, ,Johnstone, Houghton, and Melling.
