Bolton Mets 6 Ince Rose Bridge 32 BOLTON'S recent impressive run came to a halt when a very strong Ince Rose Bridge side proved too strong for a home side missing several regulars.
The Mets competed well for the first hour, but a lack of possession and injuries allowed the visitors to run away with the match.
It began evenly balanced, with Mets centres Chris Brown and James Harper making several testing runs.
However, Ince scored a try on 10 minutes and only determined tackling from full back Pierce Sherrington denied them further tries.
Bolton half backs Mark Dorning and Darryl Leech combined with forwards Neil Hart and Ralph Sherrington effectively, but they were unable to breach the visitors' defence.
Ince evaded the Bolton tacklers to score a fine try as half-time approached to go into the break 12-0 ahead.
Bolton were unfortunate to concede another try in the opening exchanges of the second half, but replied when a neat move was skilfully executed by hooker Neil Walsh to score a try that was converted by James Harper.
Now trailing by only ten points, the Mets tried to move up a gear, but their thunder was stolen by the well-drilled visitors who showed their class with an organised attacking display that yielded another three tries.
Training continues at Little Lever High School, Thursdays at 7.30. Next Saturday the Mets travel to Higginshaw, Oldham. Meet Farmers Arms, Darcy Lever, 12 noon.
