Where did you start?: As a trainee solicitor at Keoghs.
What got you interested?:I decided at a relatively early age that I wanted to be a lawyer. Keoghs had a good reputation in Defendant litigation work and I found that I enjoyed that work.
What is the secret of your success?:Hard work, a desire to understand client expectations and meet them, a strong belief in teamwork and a concern to develop people.
Best decision you ever made?:Marrying my wife.
And the worst?: Too many to single one out.
Who has been your biggest influence?: My mother.
What is your biggest complaint or concern about your sector?
The speed with which the market is moving. However, at the same time this is one of the things that motivates as it provides a very fluid and challenging environment.
Favourite music?:Bob Dylan.
Favourite theatre?:Shakespeare.
Favourite book?:Political biographies.
Favourite film?:Saving Private Ryan.
Favourite spare time activity?:Watching Bolton Wanderers.
What single piece of advice would you give to someone who wants to get where you are?:It is difficult to get anywhere in business alone, teamwork is the key.
