A COMPUTER expert from Bolton has made an impact with his new colleagues and won a top award.
Steve Chalkley from Westhoughton is celebrating after achieving recognition in JMC IT's annual Employee of the Year awards.
Newlywed Mr Chalkley, aged 31, is an order administrator within JMC's administration department and has been working for the Prestwich-based IT solutions company for twelve months.
He was nominated for the annual awards by his colleagues in the Best Newcomer category, and joined four other category winners in taking home a trophy and cash prize.
Mr Chalkley said: "I was very surprised to be nominated, but it is a great team here. JMC IT's Employee of the Year awards are an important part of the company's commitment to innovative employee relations.
"It is a great way to end my first year with the company."
Andrew Burgess, managing director of JMC IT said: "As a company we have been recognised on a number of occasions for our commitment to our staff, but it is equally important that they are awarded individually for their efforts by their peers. Steve is a vital asset to JMC and we are delighted that his helpful attitude to both his colleagues and our clients has been acknowledged with this award."
