PENSIONERS are proving you are never too old to learn the latest technological tricks.
People in their 70s, 80s and 90s are learning how to send emails and search the web at the UCAN Centre, Tonge Fold.
Retired probation officer Iris Fairclough, aged 83, of Bromley Cross, uses her new skills to keep in touch with her daughter Jean Christopherson, aged 58, who lives in Alberta, Canada.
"I've been emailing her through my internet TV. Now I want to swap photos and learn more, and I hope to get a laptop," she said.
"The hardest bit is controlling the mouse - it's all over the place."
The Dunstan Street centre, run by Manchester Methodist Housing Association, launched its Silver Surfers course to meet demand after older local people showed interest.
Now the group is hoping to attract more funding to buy laptops so the scheme can be expanded into people's own homes.
