IT was a battle of the sexes - and the girls came out the winners in a business competition.
Boys and girls from Bolton School's sixth form took part in the annual Bank of Scotland Enterprise Challenge 2007.
But it was the girls who gave the boys a run for their money when they had to pitch for "cash" for their business ideas in a Dragons' Den television-style presentation.
They had to submit a business plan for a product or service and a panel from Bank of Scotland Corporate acted as judges.
However, it was team called V1V1 which took the top prize with their idea of a revision podcast service that helps students revise for exams and allows them to download audio guides on to an MP3 player to use as revision aids.
Russell Sefton, of Bank of Scotland Corporate, said: "The standard of entries was really encouraging to see. It was great to see the student's imagination and their understanding of business studies put to good use. Their understanding of cashflow and marketing was excellent and their presentations were of a professional standard."
