ATHERTON Colls produced an outstanding second half display to continue their successful North West Counties Division One season with a 3-1 home win over Bacup Borough on Monday night.
Stuart Cliffe opened the scoring three minutes after the break when Jermain Peters' header was pushed out by the keeper and Cliffe headed home from three yards.
Bacup equalised against the run of play on 65 minutes when Matthew Cross scored from a free-kick.
Colls went ahead again three minutes later through Barry Massey's sixth goal of the season, sliding in to convert after good work from Andy Harvie.
The points were sealed on 79 minutes when David Rhodes volleyed home from 15 yards. Colls then struck the bar twice as they hit rampant mode.
Colls' second win in three days moved them up to tenth on 44 points, 14 more than they achieved throughout the whole of last season.
Daisy Hill will aim to ease their relegation worries in Division Two when they travel to sixth-placed Ashton Town tonight.
