LEIGH have an early opportunity to make amends for a disappointing 3-0 defeat to fellow strugglers Barrow when they entertain Blyth Spartans on Tuesday night (kick off 7.45pm).
The Railwaymen failed to reproduce their recent form on Saturday and manager, Stuart Humphreys, hopes the performance was a "one-off".
"It was very disappointing and I can only put it down to having to continually change the team," he said.
"It would be nice if we could get a consistent run with the same players. But I am making no excuses. I am looking for a backlash from the players.
"Blyth are a big and powerful and we will have to win the physical battle before we can start to play football."
Leigh, who are three points clear of the relegation places, are likely to be without Mark Maddox and Lee Unsworth for the Conference North clash at Hilton Park, but Steve Porter could recover from a back strain.
