IT'S St Patrick's day this weekend, and what better way to celebrate than with a genuinely original popster?
Kid Carpet may have bought his business cards for £4 from the train station, but they say "pop star" on them, so it must be true.
He may have fallen accidentally into fame, expressing constant surprise that those venerable institutions the Sunday Times and, ahem, the NME should want to write about him, but his kiddy disco punk makes him the perfect foil to local geniuses Islands Lost at Sea on their bonanza St Patrick's Day celebration.
The night - which, let's face it, is going to be the best way you can sink a pint of Guiness on that particular date - will also feature The Houseband and Islands Lost at Sea (surprise!), plus Badvibes legend in his own living room Si Farmer after the bands have finished.
In their infinite wisdom, the Islands boys have decided on a heroes and villains theme. Costumes optional(ish), and there could well be heroes and villains cocktails. Kudos from us to anyone who turns up as She-Ra.
Kid Carpet at Islands Night 3, the Dog and Partridge, this Saturday. Admission £3.
