BOLTON businesses are missing out on opportunities because of a lack of attention to their professional image.
Gary Lovatt, managing director of Moorish Idol Marketing, said some businesses failed to win bigger contracts because they cut corners on branding, literature and business cards.
Mr Lovatt said the high perceived costs are often the barrier for many businesses, particularly with those just starting out.
He said: "Some businesses simply don't realise the detrimental effect that self-printed business cards and DIY websites can have when dealing with potential customers. Branding creates a first impression that can strongly influence perceptions and it's important to get right.
"The perception is that businesses require big marketing budgets to gain recognition with bigger customers and this is simply not true."
Mr Lovatt is running a seminar - Image and Service - on March 27. To find out more call 01204 374817.
