A COMMUNITY group is making a desperate plea for a new home after being told its current base is no longer safe.
The combined Farnworth Central Residents Associations has been providing children's holiday clubs, parties and weekly lunches from "The Hut" in Queen Street since 2001.
But in November building inspectors told them the 1950s council-owned wooden building had to be closed.
The group has until the end of this month to leave the property, a former dance hall, which they scrubbed out and coated in wood preservative when they began renting it.
Dozens of five to 14-year-olds regularly attended the Wednesday and Friday games nights, run on a voluntary basis.
Committee chairman Brenda Berry, aged 66, of Dyson Close, said: "There's nowhere else for us to go.
"We were keeping children safe and off the streets and we never had any trouble.
"We are so thankful to local residents who have supported us through the years but we just don't know where to go now," added Mrs Berry A Bolton Council spokesman said: "Officers have been trying to assist this group and find a relocation for some time but unfortunately this has not been achieved."
Meanwhile, Bolton at Home is trying to find somewhere for the group to store its equipment.
