A YOUNG Bolton woman who went for a night out ended up becoming a grim statistic.
She was only 17-years-old when she was raped by Wayne Pugh, who is now behind bars for his crime.
But we applaude the courage of this young woman who decided to talk publicly about her ordeal in the hope it may stop another woman going through the same nightmare.
This young victim was scarred both physicaly and mentally after the brutal attack. Her life has changed forever, her confidence shattered but she is determined that her attacker will not get the better of her.
Young girls should have the right to go out and enjoy themselves, without the fear they may be raped. And all men should know that No means just that. We wish this young woman well and if her courage is anything to go by, she has a positive future ahead of her.
