People did a double take when they spotted what appeared to be a member of the Queen's guard in Bolton town centre.
Dressed in a bright yellow tunic and carrying an enormous teaspoon, the guardsman was parading about Cheadle Square, off Le Mans Crescent.
But rather than preparing for a royal visit, the guard - usually seen in red outside Buckingham Palace - was taking part in filming for a TV advert for Kellogg's cereal.
The advert was the work of London-based ad agency, JWT. A spokesman said: "We wanted somewhere that was official looking. This advert is part of a big new campaign for Crunchy Nut Cornflakes."
It is the latest of a number of film crews to visit Bolton.
Scenes for Channel 4's Shameless and BBC1 drama Life On Mars have also been filmed in the town.
Bolton Council leader Cllr Cliff Morris said: "We are delighted that more film makers are recognising what Bolton has to offer in terms of character and that one of the town's prestigious buildings is to feature in this commercial.
"Filming is great news for Bolton, not just in terms of the economic benefits, but it also puts us on the map and helps give people a sense of pride in their town when they see familiar places on TV."
