A PETROL station manager who stole £7,000 from a safe to fund her gambling habit has been handed a six-month suspended jail term by Bolton magistrates.

Kathleen Peters, aged 48, of Rayden Crescent, Westhoughton, has promised to pay back £5,000 of the cash she stole after admitting theft.

She had been working at United Co-operatives' Cricketers Way garage for 10 years before her gambling addiction got out of control.
