WOMEN are being invited to take part in events marking International Women's Week which got under way at the weekend.
The University of Bolton's Enlighten Project is organising activities for the public and students over the next two weeks.
The nationally acclaimed project encourages women from ethnic communities into higher education.
Enlighten, funded by the European Development Fund and the Aimhigher programme, has worked with more than 400 women in its five-year history, offering support, reassurance and mentoring.
Event diary Friday, in Room T3:08, Eagle Tower, the Eagle Buildings at Deane Campus there are workshops on confidence building from noon to 1pm, lunch and henna painting until 2pm and hair and beauty demonstrations from 2pm to 3pm.
On Saturday, March 17, in Eagle Mall, Eagle Buildings, the university and Bolton Community College host a celebratory festival event from 11am to 3pm. Activities will include Irish dancing, henna painting, hand massage, children's magician, banner making, hair and beauty, free food, information stands and lots more.
Guest speakers include, University of Bolton Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Karyn Brinkley and local councillor Sufrana Ismail.
