A SECURITY guard assaulted his girlfriend with a doner kebab after she got a taxi home without him.
Bolton magistrates heard how Gary Berrido, aged 22, of Bankfield Street, Bolton had been for a night out with his partner, Michelle Biggs, in January.
They ordered a taxi and Miss Biggs got in, with Berrido telling her to wait while he went into a nearby take away shop to fetch his friend.
But 10 minutes later, when Berrido had not returned, Miss Biggs asked the taxi driver to take her home.
Berrido later arrived at the home with his friend after walking back to the house.
He got into a row with Miss Biggs and threw his doner kebab at her.
Berrido left the house and Miss Biggs called the police, who arrested him.
He pleaded guilty to assault when he appeared in court yesterday.
Rahil Khan, defending, said Berrido and Miss Biggs, who have two young daughters, have had a volatile four year relationship.
He added that Berrido had been working in Ireland as a security guard, which had put a strain on their relationship and he had returned home to patch things up.
He was hoping to find work in Manchester, but had struggled.
Mr Khan said the couple now hoped to be reconciled.
Magistrates sentenced Berrido to a community order with 18 months supervision and ordered him to do 120 hours unpaid work as well as pay £43 towards court costs.
