RADCLIFFE Borough remain on the brink of relegation danger after another forgettable away-day.
The Stainton Park men, who have yet to register a win on their travels this season, are fourth bottom of Evo-Stik League First Division North after going down 2-0 to fifth-placed Scarborough Athletic.
Without key players Richard Smith and Steve Foster, Boro went behind in the seventh minute when Tom Corner ran unchallenged into the penalty area and slotted home past a helpless Chris Cheetham.
A scrappy game played on a poor surface, Boro rarely threatened and will need to raise their game, beginning against Mossley at home on Saturday, if they are to avoid getting dragged into a relegation battle.
Cheetham earned himself a yellow card on 23 minutes for needlessly bringing down Corner outside the penalty area and his side almost went two behind five minutes before the interval when Alex Metcalfe crashed a shot against the crossbar.
They had another lucky escape just after the restart when Corner should have done better than firing high and wide after a mix-up in the Boro defence.
The Scarborough danger man made amends on 52 when he made no mistake this time from six yards out and Boro had Cheetham to thank on the hour for an impressive double save, first denying Corner his hat-trick and then blocking James Bennett's close-range follow-up.
Cheetham again thwarted Corner, but all the action was at the wrong end as Boro again failed on their travels which have seen them earn just four points from 18 away games this season.
Boro: Cheetham, Brown, Lambert, Lafferty, McGrath, Sherlock, Rokka (Hindle 75), Davies, Landregan (Jackson 60), McMahon (Burey 86), Woods.
