LOSTOCK Cricket Club are inviting people to learn more about their plans for the future by attending their annual general meeting next month.
The club is on the brink of returning to an impressive new sporting facility which is being development in Chew Moor after seven years away from the town.
Having successfully come through a long battle for survival the club believe they are entering the most exciting period in their 77-year history.
And they see the annual general meeting at Chew Moor Methodist Church, St John’s Road, Lostock on Wednesday, March 4 as an opportunity for members of the community and past, present and future members to learn more about what the future holds for the club.
“We’ve got exciting plans for the cricket club both on and off the field," said vice-chairman of the cricket club, Danny Cockton.
"And we want to share our story and our vision with everyone, especially those in our new community."
"The development of the ground is well under way, as can be seen by local residents, and the AGM will be an opportunity to see what the club are planning.
"We’ve been given a wonderful opportunity and with that opportunity comes a great responsibility to make it the very best that it can be.
"In order to achieve that, in order to achieve our vision, we need hearts, minds and hard work from everyone to make this a club we can all be proud of."
Lostock, which was formed in 1938, currently has four junior cricket teams and two senior cricket teams which play in the Bolton and District Cricket Association.
They previously played on the former British Aerospace site in Lostock. Since 2008 the seniors have played at Haydock Cricket Club and the junior teams at Bolton School.
The annual general meeting will begin at 7.30pm.
