Manchester Phoenix have announced the dates for their English Challenge Cup semi-final against the Swindon Wildcats.
The first leg will be played on Wednesday 28th January, face off time to be confirmed, in Swindon.
The teams will come to the Altrincham Ice Dome on Thursday 12th February, starting at 7.30pm, for the crucial second leg. The ties are sure to be exciting and close. Swindon have been a surprise package this season and are riding high in the league. With experienced netminder Stevie Lyle between the pipes, Alex Symonds and ex Phoenix captain Kenton Smith on the blue line and top forwards Aaron Nell, Tomas Malasinski, Jonas Hoog and Henri Sandvik up front, this season’s Wildcats are formidable opponents.
The teams have met twice so far this season in the league with the Wildcats holding the advantage with a penalty shot win at the Dome and a 4-2 victory in Wiltshire.
The other semi final is between Telford Tigers and Guildford Flames and the winners of the semi finals will meet in a two leg final in March.
