Act name: Cian Gleeson, aged 17, from Horwich
When and where did you begin performing?
I started taking a serious interest in music at the age of 14.
What is your sound and who are your influences?
I always get asked this and I find it very hard to describe my sound. I'd say it's more pop than anything else but there's also a bit of folk and indie in there somewhere. Ed Sheeran is a biggie. His musicianship and commitment is incredible. His story of how he 'made it' is also very inspiring. A very, very talented guy and he's smashing it at the minute.
What is the biggest gig you have played to date?
I had the honour of opening up for The Vamps at the Phones 4u Arena, for Key103's SummerLive concert. I think there was around 20,000 people there, absolutely crazy night! I loved every second. It's opened up a lot of other opportunities for me too, so I'm very grateful.
If you are not already, is it your ambition to become professional?
Yes of course, I'd love to — it's the dream.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
In 10 years I'd love to have a few top 10 albums and a few arena tours under my belt.
Upcoming gigs?
I'm very busy writing, recording and travelling at the minute so no big gigs to announce but I'll be back gigging soon. Follow me on Twitter for any information on gigs, new music, etc, @CianGMusic.
