HORWICH wrapped up a place in next season’s Lancashire Knockout by one point after two wins on the final weekend.
They followed up their 34 run victory over champions Farnworth Social Circle on Saturday by defeating Walkden by seven wickets.
Phil Cavill (25) and Babar Naeem (24 and 7-26) spearheaded their challenge, while Honey Garg earlier top-scored for Walkden with 53 in their total of 96.
Rameez Alam’s 101 not out for Social Circle helped them to a four wicket win against Eagley.
Chris Barrow earlier set the tone with the ball (6-54) as Eagley set a total of 185.
Paul Rayment top-scored with 45 for Eagley.
Westhoughton were on top in a low-scoring game with Little Lever beating them by nine wickets.
Little Lever were all out for 56 with Andy Warden hitting 17 but Qaiser Abbas did most of the damage with 5-17 and the St George’s Oval side knocked off the runs for the loss of one wicket as Danny Naylor was unbeaten on 40.
Chesney Hughes was the star for Kearsley in their 191 run win against Tonge.
He hit 136 while Siraj Patel added 68 while Pat Hamer took 4-80 as they posted a total of 313.
Grant Cordin (5-52) played a key role as Tonge were all out for 122.
Rick Northrop’s 38 and Steve Shepley’s 35 saw Astley Bridge over the finish line by six wickets against Heaton.
Syd De Silva impressed with the ball with 4-28 as Heaton were bwoled out for 124.
Bradshaw relied on the trio of Tom Liversedge (30), Nick Lester (20) and Mohammed Jameel (21) to defeat Greenmount by three wickets.
Amal Athulathmudali (44 and 5-57) and Amal Dalugoda (51 and 5-44) stole the show for Egerton in their 47 run win against Farnworth.
z Westhoughton became the first ever club to win five successive second-team championships holding on despite a late challenge from Greenmount.
