SOLICITOR Amy Price is laying down the law to encourage local people to join her on a fundraising walk next weekend.
The 33-year-old, who is a partner in the family department of Bolton town centre firm Russell & Russell, has organised a 10-mile guided walk through some of Lancashire’s most beautiful scenery on Saturday.
The walk starts at the Helmshore Textile Museum in Holcombe Road, Helmshore, and winds its way around Holcombe Moor and Peel Tower offering amazing valley views.
Ms Price is raising money towards a more gruelling event next year, when she joins the Children Today charity’s annual challenge in Cuba.
The nine-day action-packed adventure in June will involve teams captained by ex-pro footballers.
It includes activities from cycling and trekking to zip-lining and salsa dancing. The trip annually raises thousands of pounds to buy bespoke wheelchairs and vital equipment.
“I’m really looking forward to it,” said Ms Price. “I’m a bit worried about the zip wire but otherwise it’s going to be really exciting.”
Because each individual taking part has to raise a minimum sponsorship of £3,200, she is organising a series of fundraising events starting with the walk. Cost for the event is £10 each plus sponsorship cash, with details available from 07990 510325.
