A GANG of youths attacked firefighters with bottles as they tried to put out a fire in a Tyldesley park.
The fire crew, from Atherton, were initially called out to a fire in Astley Street park at 10pm on Saturday, only to be confronted by about 10 teenagers aged between 16 and 18 who had been drinking.
It is believed that the youths had dragged a household wheelie bin into the park and threw the contents out and set it on fire.
They ran off when firefighters threatened to call police.
