IN-form Lancashire youngster Josh Bohannon was in the runs again as Farnworth Social Circle edged closer to the Bolton League title with a 69-run victory at Hamer Cup kings Heaton.
A wet morning meant a delayed start at Lower Pools but the league leaders were quickly into their stride.
Bohannon hit 75 and was supported by pro Rameez Alam (34) as the visitors posted 177-4 from just 25 overs.
Heaton could only reach 108-9 in response with Humayun Farhat top scoring with 43. Chris Barrow was the bowling scourge for Social Circle taking 6-45.
Second-placed Westhoughton slipped to home defeat to Greenmount in another reduced-over clash.
Greenmount reached 150-2 from their 34 overs with professional Akbar ur-Rehman (59 not out) and Ryan Senior (54no) putting on a third-wicket partnership of 115. Both wickets were taken by Atiq Uz-Zaman (2-63).
Pro Qaiser Abbas was again the star with the bat for the hosts, hitting an unbeaten 57.
But Mark Stewart (4-60) and Phil Heaton (3-54) restricted them to 122-7 and Greenmount won by 28 runs.
Bradshaw took advantage of that slip by the Howfeners with an 82-run triumph at struggling Tonge.
In a 27-over-per-side game, the visitors batted first and scored 128-6 with Saeed Anwar Jnr (39) top scoring.
Tonge's Iain McLellan took 3-48 and Gullam Abbas weighed in with 2-36 but the reply would fall well short.
Steve Foster (4-30) and Mohamed Jameel (4-12) did the damage with the ball as Tonge were skittled out for just 46, collapsing from 24-3 to 28-7 at one stage with the top scorer Abbas scoring just 17.
Horwich beat Farnworth by four wickets in another reduced-over clash.
Farnworth’s Chris Baxendale hit 32 as his team reached 91-8; Adam Street taking 4-38 and Babar Naeem 3-21.
The hosts’ reply saw them total 95-6, thanks in the main to Phil Cavill’s knock of 42. Adil Nisar returned super figures of 4-12 from his 10 overs for Farnworth and pro Carl Raubenheimer took 2-14 but it was not enough for the Lavender Road outfit.
In the only other game to go ahead, Kearsley beat Egerton by five wickets.
Egerton batted first and posted 97-9 from their 26 overs with Danny Partington unbeaten on 32; Sabah Ghaus taking 6-40 for the hosts.
Kearsley reached 98-5 to seal the win with 24 of those runs coming by way of extras in an innings littered with wides.
Amal Dalugoda (2-13) and Stuart Hornby (2-38) were the main wicket-takers for Egerton.
The matches between Walkden and Astley Bridge and Little Lever and Eagley were completely washed out after the morning deluge without a single ball being bowled.
