THE Octagon Theatre’s first play of the season opens tonight.
Journey’s End, by RC Sherriff, runs until Saturday, October 4, and is directed by David Thacker.
It is the first of two plays programmed to commemorate the centenary of the outbreak of World War One.
Mr Thacker, right, the Octagon’s artistic director, said: “We open the season with two plays to commemorate the centenary of the beginning of the First World War: “Journey’s End, followed by Early One Morning, which is by Les Smith.
“These two plays will be particularly powerful and will both have an enormous impact on our audiences. I feel that they will be a fitting tribute to the young soldiers from Bolton and the North West, who fought and lost their lives during the War.”
Early One Morning is on from October 9 to November 1.
