BODY cameras have been rolled out throughout Lancashire Constabulary to help capture the best evidence.
The cameras were used on a small number of operations but will now be worn more widely across the force. Immediate response teams have been issued with 150 cameras.
Insp Mark Baines, from Lancashire Constabulary, said: “I hope that the wider use of the cameras will promote public reassurance, capture best evidence, prevent harm and deter people from committing crime and anti-social behaviour.”
Only specially-trained police officers will wear the cameras.
Members of the public will be told when they are being recorded.
Images will be deleted after 30 days unless they are needed for evidence.
