WITH a new band behind him and airtime on popular football show Soccer AM, the future is looking bright for singer-songwriter Jordan Allen.
The 20-year-old is delighted his track Remembered was chosen to be played on this morning’s episode of the Sky 1 programme, as he launches the new line-up for The Jordan Allen Band.
The Bolton Wanderers fan said: “I’m ecstatic. I’ve watched it since I was younger. It’s a huge honour.
“It’s one of the highlights so far, I’m sure there will be many more to come.”
The title track, from his debut EP, was due to be played over the montage of goals scored in this week’s League One and Two matches on the footie chat show, which is also known for featuring new musical talent.
In recent years, the former Bolton School pupil has been performing as a solo artist but has now teamed up with pals and fellow musicians Marcus Johnston, Joe Horrocks and Danny Quin, also from Westhoughton.
Jordan, from Westhoughton, said: “It got to the stage I was getting a lot of big gigs and I needed a band.
“I was getting told that I needed to step it up.
“We’ve been practising for the last two months in Danny’s basement.
“It’s been going really well.
“We’ve got a booking agent and she’s been helping us out. We’ve booked a UK tour. We start that in September.”
The band is playing a number of dates, including Kraak Gallery, Manchester, on Friday, and Horwich Cricket Club on November 22.
The lads will be out to impress music bosses who attend the gigs, in the hope of landing a record deal.
The former Runshaw College student, whose day job is working in marketing, said: “It’s pretty crazy. We’re playing with quite a few pretty big names.
“Danny Mahon, he has supported Noel Gallagher and stuff.
“The number of people that have jumped on the band wagon, I’ve had the Happy Mondays tweeting me, Clint Boon loves it.
“It’s been pretty mad, it’s exciting.
“The plan is to be on tour and doing the festival circuit this time next year.
“Hopefully signed and playing some pretty big gigs and festivals.
“It kind of hinges on how we go as a band.
“We’ve got a big opportunity here.”
The Jordan Allen Band’s video for track Set in Stone will be released on YouTube tomorrow.
