A VAN driver ignored a road block following an accident in Little Hulton, mounted a kerb and almost hit some firefighters.
Cleggs Lane was blocked after three cars crashed when a male driver had a fit at the wheel and lost control of his car.
Nobody was badly injured and the driver who had the fit was taken to hospital. His condition is not thought to be serious.
Cleggs Lane was shut for an hour, with traffic diverted along Amblecote Road East.
A crew from Farnworth fire station went to the crash and a spokesman said: “When the road block was in place a van ignored the signs and ploughed through.
“He mounted the kerb and almost hit some officers. Realising his mistake, he reversed and drove away.”
