THE University of Bolton open day experience hit the road last weekend, taking its Centre for Advanced Performance Engineering (CAPE) team to Rockingham race track.
Potential students for the CAPE courses, plus those who have already signed up, were treated to a race day experience at the Ginetta Summer Festival.
They were able to see what goes on in the pits, got a real feel for how the university’s professional race team works and heard from the professionals on why CAPE’s motorsport engineering courses are unique.
The university is the first in the country to have a professional race team, RLR Msport, based on campus. As part of their course CAPE students join the Le Mans 24-hour racing team to work at race days as well as in the team’s workshops.
