A STUDENT from Little Lever will “walk with the animals” after landing a part-time job following a period of work experience.
Cara Coulson-Ashworth got the job after a placement at Bradley Fold Garden Centre from her course at Bury College.
The 17-year-old, who hopes to become a vet, helped to take care of a wide range of the animals at the centre including geckos, reptiles, birds, guinea pigs, rabbits, gerbils and fish.
After impressing during her time there, the former Little Lever High School pupil was invited to apply for a Saturday job.
Cara, who is studying for A-Levels in maths, physics, chemistry and biology, hopes to go on to study veterinary sciences at university.
She said: “I really enjoyed my placement, especially handling reptiles as I got brilliant hands-on experience.
“Bury College was really helpful with helping me gain the placement and it now means I can now write about this on my CV and university application form.”
