A WOMAN was cut free from a car after a crash in Tonge.
The driver, who is in her 50s, was in a blue Vauxhall Corsa when it crashed into a Landrover at the junction of Crompton Way and Thicketford Road at 1.45pm.
Firefighters based at Bolton Fire Station in Crompton Way were called to the scene and cut the back off the car before removing the back seat.
They pulling the woman to safety and put her in a waiting ambulance and she was taken to Royal Bolton Hospital.
The other driver escaped unhurt.
Police closed one lane of the northbound side of Crompton Way for about 20 minutes while the vehicles were removed.
