RADCLIFFE Borough moved up to seventh place in the EvoStik Division One North after a thrilling 3-2 home win against Lancaster City.
Boro opened the scoring in the fifth minute when Danny White calmly slipped the ball past Michael Hale into the net.
Boro had captain James Mullineux made a goal-saving clearance from Ryan Winder on 15 minutes and then had to go off injured 12 minutes later.
Chris Cheetham pulled off a fine save to keep the lead intact before Chris Mason was denied by a great save at the other end.
Lancaster levelled, but Boro were back in front on 43 minutes when Chris Mason scored his third penalty in as many games following a handball.
Boro increased their lead on the hour when Bevan Burey’s header from Danny White’s corner slipped past Hale into the net. Lancaster pulled a goal back two minutes later and, after Boro substitute Michael McGinley, son of former Wanderers star John, forced three quality saves, Lancaster almost got a late equaliser when they hit the bar.
Bradley Cook struck twice as leaders Atherton Collieries maintained their 100 per cent winning record in the North West Counties Division One with a 3-0 victory over Widnes.
Kristian Holt set the leaders on their way with the opening goal on five minutes before Cook extended the gap in the 22nd and 65th minutes.
The Alder House men remain three points clear of second-placed Daisy Hill who produced a stirring comeback to turn a 2-0 half-time deficit into a 3-2 victory at Barnton.
The New Sirs side recovered from a terrible start, conceding goals in the third and 12th minutes to hit back with three goals in a stirring 22-minute spell.
Curtis Cummins halved deficit on 64 minutes before Daniel Dalton levelled on 74 and Andrew Buckley hit the winner four minutes from time.
Atherton LR dropped to 11th after a goal in each half saw them go down 2-0 at fourth-placed Chadderton.
