BY day they are suited and booted — for their jobs as bankers and lawyers.
But at night, these local businessmen let their hair down and rock out — as they join together to form covers band The Chilli Monkeys.
Now the band are set to play their last of four fundraising gigs — as they look to raise more than £30,000.
The Chilli Monkeys play their farewell concert at The Brinsop in Chorley Road Westhoughton on Saturday, November 29.
Fronted by Natwest’s commecial banking director Ian Settle, the band performs music by the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Arctic Monkeys, Kings of Leon, Oasis, Stereophonics and even Take That.
Other members of the band include guitarist Michael Slater, a partner at Bolton law firm KBL, bass player Scott Woodward, who works for Handelsbanken in Blackburn and drummer Colin Sykes, who runs his own firm, while banker Craig Eccles is their sound engineer.
Mr Settle added: “We are yet to decide which charities we are supporting, but we are announcing the date, so people can keep it free.
“We first did this five years ago and we have done a gig a year since, raising more than £26,000. We are hoping to hit the £30,000 mark this time before we hang up our instruments.”
