A MUM with incurable cancer and her daughter are to enjoy their first holiday away together thanks to a Bolton charity.
Diane Cooke, aged 39, and her daughter Tyler Wylde, aged 12, are being treated to an all expenses paid holiday to Pontins in Prestatyn next month, courtesy of A Day of Sunshine.
Diane Cooke, from Walkden, was diagnosed with breast cancer in April, and thought she was clear of the disease after a mastectomy.
But within weeks she was told that the cancer had spread to her abdomen.
Aside from regular chemotherapy to keep it under control, there is no cure.
Ms Cooke said that brave Tyler has been her rock throughout the ordeal, and always helps out when she feels unwell.
She even shaved her mum’s head when her hair started falling out.
Ms Cooke said: “This will be mine and Tyler’s first proper holiday away together and we can’t wait. It has been a hard few months but she has been amazing — almost like my little carer.
“I am so grateful to A Day of Sunshine and can’t wait to have a nice break with my daughter.”
