A GRANDMOTHER from Great Lever has raised £7,075 for Diabetes UK in the last two years.

Ila Shah, of Southbrook Grove, arranged two sponsored walks around Leverhulme Park to help raise funds for the charity.

Last year, with the help of friends, family, and local community groups, she raised £3,164 and this year she raised £3,911.

The money was raised in memory of her late husband, Nanubhai Shah, who lived with the disease for 20 years before his death in November, 2012.
