BUSKERS are being invited to take part in a day of music in memory of a musician who died from a brain tumour.
The fundraising buskathon will take place outside Booth’s Music, in Churchgate, from 10am to 3pm on Saturday, in honour of musician Crissi Makin, who died last month.
Friend Colin Liptrot, who works at Booth’s Music, said: “Crissi hosted a buskathon last year and I thought it would be a nice tribute to have a similar event.
“I feel this is something that she would have approved as she loved live music.”
Ms Makin, aged 59, was former licensee of The Tramways in Blackburn Road, Astley Bridge.
All donations from the event will go towards the Churchgate Stage Fund, which is raising money to give local musicians and students of Booth’s an outdoor performance space in Churchgate.
