A MUM from Halliwell has proved she is “brave to shave” after chopping off her long hair for charity.

Sammy-Lin Lancelott, aged 25, had her shoulder-length brown locks shorn off by The Cutting Room’s Alex Derbyshire at St Luke’s in Chorley Old Road for Macmillan’s Shave or Style campaign.

Fundraisers are being challenged to either get rid of their pride and joy or change their style to raise money for the cancer charity.

Miss Lancelott is also going to send her hair off so that wigs can be made for cancer patients who lose their hair through chemotherapy.

She said: “It still feels really weird. I was shaking all the way through when Alex was shaving it. My poor son, Harry, isn’t sure about it yet — but I’m sure he’ll get used to it in time.

“I’m really glad that I’ve done it. It’s such a worthy cause. Plus I have exceeded my target of £60, which I am really pleased about.

“Cancer affects everyone so if my donation helps towards one person that makes it worthwhile.”
