DAISY Hill staged one of the comebacks of the season to defeat in-form Bury by two wickets.
With the score at 65-5 the St James Street outfit faced an uphill struggle to chase down Bury’s total of 193.
But Amjad Khan and Steve Evans combined with a seventh wicket partnership of 123 to turn the game around.
When Khan left the fray for 47, Evans carried the challenge with 67 not out to help them over the finish line.
Bury used eight bowlers trying to dismiss Evans and Khan and skipper Simon Belston had earlier spearheaded their batting with 107 ands Bury will feel they should have wrapped up the win.
Stephen Hodgkinson was the star bowler for Daisy with 4-31.
Alton Beckford caught the eye with his all-round display taking 5-43 and hitting an unbeaten 72 to guide Flixton to a seven-wicket win against Elton.
Chris Read’s 55 was the highlight of Elton’s 160 while Aiden Fetherston took 4-16.
Flixton made short work of reaching their total with Steve Hammond 29no and they lost by just three wickets.
Also in the top six, Jamar Griffith stole the show for Atherton taking 5-41 in skittling Walshaw out for 133.
He then bagged a half-century and, along with a knock of 63 by Rashon Primus, helped Atherton to a five wicket win.
Thusendra de Zoysa bagged another century hitting 113no in a six wicket win against Edgworth.
Jaco Fourie made up for being dropped on 10 on his way to 93 but De Zoysa took 4-52 and Chamila Wijesinghe (3-48) as Blackrod were all out for 198.
George Tipping hit 34 while Edgworth’s Gareth Williams took 2-38.
Dave Flatley starred with bat (53) and ball (4-21) for Swinton Moorside as they sealed a 30-run win against Lostock.
Swinton Moorside batted first posting 171 with James Wade also impressing with 35 as David Flanaghan took 3-33.
Lostock suffered a tail-end collapse after fine work by Peter Flanaghan (47), Conner Hicklin (27) and Aaron Mullins (26).
Will Driver was the pick of the bowlers as Winton beat Darcy Lever by 37 runs.
Russ Brown (54) and Rick Johnson (35) set a total of 172 with Dominic Gavin taking 3-36.
In reply, Nick Fawcett was the top batsman for Darcy with 36 but Driver, Darren Carter (2-29) and Brett Cox (2-37) helped wrap up the win in 39.5 overs.
Elsewhere in the bottom six, Worsley showed their class with a 224-run win over lowly Little Hulton.
Danny McKeown hit 134 while Nick Old chipped in with 70 as Worsley reached 264.
Himesh Silva (4-16), Sam Lowe (3-3) and James Kilner (3-19) played key roles in bowling their opponents out for just 40.
Majid Majeed took five wickets as Adlington defeated Astley and Tyldesley by six wickets.
Chris Bullock and Chris Bennett hit 18 apiece as A&T were all out for 114. Tom Foster (33), Mark Halliwell (29) and Jack Shovelton (22 adding to his earlier 3-19) played key roles in the win.
Standish came out on top in their tie with Golborne winning by 76 runs.
Dave Bowden (87 and 5-38) and Sam Heeley (106no and 3-17) combined well in the win for Standish.
