PUPILS at Ladywood School will now be driven to activities in style, thanks to the generosity of community members who helped to raise funds to pay for a new minibus.
The Peugeot 17-seater, which has wheelchair access, has already been branded with the school’s logo and the slogan: “Believe and achieve”.
The minibus will allow students to travel to extra-curricular sporting events and other activities safely.
Early years teacher Yvonne Heywood said: “The minibus will be used to enrich the pupil’s learning. They learn by experience so, if we are discussing the seaside we can take them to a seaside, and. if we are discussing money. we can take them out shopping.
“Also we have a number of sports events that we take part in. The old bus we wasn’t really fit for purpose, so we are grateful to all the parents and members of the community who helped us buy it.”
