BOLTON School students Teddy Pender and Ellena Owen balanced their academic studies with their love of sport Teddy, aged 19, is off to Bates College, in the US — his brother is studying at Harvard — to pursue his love of swimming.
Ellena is captain of the Cheshire County netball team and played in the North West Lacrosse team and is off to Durham to read maths after achieving two A*s and two As.
She said: “I was really busy but it was about time management.
“I am going continue playing sport while at university.”
Teddy, who achieved two As and a B, said: “I had an unconditional offer but I wanted to get good grades for myself — and I am really looking forward to seeing my brother.”
