A WOMAN fought off a robber who tried to steal her phone.
The incident happened just after 12.30pm on Wednesday July 16 when the 20-year-old woman was walking along a dirt track towards Beefold Lane in Atherton.
She noticed a man walking towards her, and as he walked past she started to use her mobile phone.
The man then ran up to her, pushed her to the floor and demanded she gave him her phone.
The woman managed to get up and push him away and he ran off empty handed.
The attacker is described as white, in his 40s, around 5ft 8in tall, of skinny build, clean shaven and had a bald head with shaven hair at the side.
He had fair eyebrows and dark bags around his eyes as well as acne scars — speaking with a local accent, he was dressed in a beige t-shirt with a black logo, light coloured joggers and white trainers.
Anyone with information is asked to phone police on 0161 8567225.
