MOTOR racing enthusiasts from the University of Bolton’s Centre for Advanced Performance Engineering (CAPE) are heading for the Ginetta Summer Festival at the Rockingham race circuit where they will be joined by CAPE ambassador, TV star and racing driver Kelvin Fletcher.
The event, on Sunday, is a celebration of Ginetta — the British racing car company and race series founded in 1958.
Kelvin, who races in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB and the VdeV Endurance Series with Team RLR MSport and the University of Bolton, will be in the pits and trackside and will discuss his racing experience with guests and prospective students.
The CAPE team will have two garages and four cars at the event.
A Ginetta is just one of the cars which are worked on and tested by students studying BSc in Motorsport Technology or BEng in Automotive Performance Engineering (Motorsport).
