THE Muslim Jewish Forum of Greater Manchester, which has members in Bolton, has been shortlisted for an award in the National Diversity Awards.
The organisation has been put forward for the category of Community Organisation Award for Race Religion and Faith.
The National Diversity Awards are the UK’s largest diversity awards, with globally-known sponsors including Microsoft, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Lloyds Banking Group, British Sky Broadcasting and the Secret Service MI5.
Jonny Wineberg, the Forum’s Jewish co-chairman, said “This is not only a great honour for those involved in the Muslim Jewish Forum and a recognition of our work but also a statement about the importance of maintaining community cohesion in troubled times.
“While members of our forum may differ in political views, we maintain a respectful and friendly dialogue.
“The forum looks to provide an example to our respective communities of how to discuss differences, as well as enjoy our similarities.”
