DARTH Vader and a life-sized Dalek could be appearing in Bolton as part of an exciting new comic book show.
The Holiday Inn in Higher Bridge Street is playing host to an event set to set pulses racing for sci-fi fans throughout the town on Sunday, August 17.
As well as numerous comic book stalls, selling contemporary and vintage magazines, some dating back to the 1960s, there will be life-size figures of legendary sci-fi characters.
The show follows the Southport Comic Book Show and smaller events held at The Last Drop Village Hotel and the Market Place earlier this year.
Organised by Ken Hampson, who runs town centre shop Omega Collectables, the event is the precursor to next November’s Bolton ComicCon, which will be attended by celebrity guests.
Organiser Mr Hampson said: “We hope to have a life-sized Dalek on display as well as the usual exciting merchandise including, toys, comics, posters and T-shirts.
“It's our first event at The Holiday Inn in Bolton and we couldn't have chosen a better venue, as the staff have been first class. We had a really successful show in June at the Last Drop Village and are having another in November.
“But we thought an event in August would be nice for those fans who could not wait that long.”
Entry at The Holiday Inn on August 17 costs £2 and the event runs from 11am to 5pm.
