JERMAINE Beckford grabbed top billing once again with his fifth goal in six games at Watford as Wanderers extended their unbeaten run to eight games.
The two sides shared just four shots on target but Beckford got the one that counted, albeit with a massive assist from Watford keeper Manuel Almunia.
The Spanish keeper, formerly of Arsenal, made a hash of collecting Neil Danns’ cross from the right, dropping the ball invitingly for Beckford to scoop into the net after 27 minutes.
With three away wins on the spin, the Whites were climbing the Championship table after a poor start with manager Dougie Freedman claiming: “We’ll be in the top six.”
